Whitehead Hittin' on All Cylinders

Paul Whitehead produced one of the rarest feats in baseball today when he hit for the cycle against the Murfreesboro Deacons in the San Antonio 12-1 win at William Spade Park.

Afterward, Whitehead acknowledged that his accomplishment was special, but he was more interested in helping the Storm Troopers just win some ballgames. At the postgame press conference, he said, "Maybe one day I'll look back on this day with more meaning, but right now I just want to come out tomorrow and put some good swings on the ball, get a few hits and help my club win another game."

On his historic day, he went 4-5 with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored -- and also got a spot in the league record books. Maybe one day way down the road he will get out the record book and reminisce about his extra special day in baseball.

Paul Whitehead hit an RBI triple in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Brian Taylor in the 5th, doubled in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th.

Currently Whitehead is batting .302 with 1 home run and 8 RBIs.
