Clayton Big Deal in Newark: Hits for Cycle Sunday, April 30th, 2017 Skip Clayton won the battle against Jacksonville pitching, but lost the war. The Jail Birds right fielder hit for the cycle, but it wasn't enough to bring home the victory. Newark fell today to the Hellcats 11-10 at Hellcats Park. Clayton more than did his part with 4 hits, 4 RBI and 2 runs scored. However, his best just wasn't enough today. Skip Clayton doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Edward Brown in the 6th and tripled in the 9th. Clayton is hitting at a .298 mark this season. His stats show 4 home runs, 18 RBIs and 17 runs scored. He has played 24 games for the Jail Birds. |
