Cy Young Award Goes to Phoenix Hurler Monday, October 31st, 2016 He's in the early phase of his career, but this past season Ramón Vázquez performed like a veteran on the hill for the Phoenix Lights and walked away with the Ford Frick League Cy Young Award in the process. The 24-year-old Lights star fashioned a 15-1 won-loss record in 2016 with a 1.54 ERA. In 157.1 innings of work and 23 starts, Vázquez struck out 205 while giving up 110 hits and 44 walks. He held opposing batters to a .193 average. |
