Richter Socks it to Whitecaps, Cracks 5 Hits Saturday, June 4th, 2016 It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Jim Richter -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at North Shore Park and paced the Snaps to a 16-1 win over the Grand Haven Whitecaps. After his dynamite batting performance the Cincinnati center fielder told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Jim Richter doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, tripled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th. Richter is currently batting .296 with 3 home runs, 29 RBIs and 47 runs scored. He has 68 hits in 230 at-bats. |
