Carson City's Vickerson Snags August Batting Title Monday, September 1st, 2014 David Vickerson has a lot going for him. The Carson City catcher just broke into the majors this year and now the Ford Frick League has just picked him as its top hitter for August. In 24 games last month, this outstanding rookie batted .326 with 9 home runs, 28 RBIs and 22 runs scored. So far this season Vickerson is batting .241 with 16 home runs, 71 RBIs and 52 runs scored. He has 91 hits in 377 at-bats, 63 walks and a .348 OBP. Vickerson has played in 101 games. |
