Goodwin Slams 5 Hits for Sandy Springs
Saturday, August 16th, 2014
It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Chris Goodwin -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at Parliament Field and paced the Spartans to a 12-4 win over the Ottawa Outlaws.
After his dynamite batting performance the Sandy Springs left fielder told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book.
Chris Goodwin hit a solo-shot off Dan Rose in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This season Goodwin has hit at a .296 clip with 51 RBIs, 16 home runs and 60 runs scored. He has played in 95 games.
