Murphy 5-6 for Riverside Tuesday, July 8th, 2014 Paul Murphy really sizzled at the plate today. In a game played at The Bird Stadium, the Riverside second baseman blistered the Prussian Marxists for 5 hits in 6 at-bats to pace his club to a 12-2 victory. "Murphy was too tough to get out today," the Marxists skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Paul Murphy hit an RBI double in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, tripled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th. For the season Murphy is hitting .332, batted in 54 runs with 7 home runs and 52 runs scored. |
