Stingrays Stonard August's Top Hurler
Saturday, September 1st, 2012
"The kid had it all working last month," a veteran teammate told reporters. "He keeps up those kind of numbers, we might have to start inviting him out with us after the games."
John Stonard put together a very solid month to take home the Kade Stenson League's top pitching honor in August.
The 21-year-old reliever threw like a veteran. In 14 relief appearances he raked in 9 saves and 14 strikeouts in 13 innings as he put together his 1-1 record and 1.38 ERA.
This season Stonard has made 53 relief appearances, saving 30. His record is 5-3 with 66 strikeouts in 56.1 innings and a 2.56 ERA.
