Hot Bat Cooled, Wright Hitless Against Bumblebees
Thursday, September 26th, 2019
The Astoria Argonauts won the game 5-2 over the Pasadena Bumblebees. At the same time the Bumblebees mound corps did what no other team could do. They stopped the 22-game hitting streak of Argonauts center fielder Alex Wright. But that was still not enough to win the game.
"Our pitchers might have focused a bit too much on stopping Wright," the Pasadena manager commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Argonauts have other hitters, and they did their job today."
For the year Wright is batting .290 with 12 home runs, 54 RBIs and 80 runs scored.
