Vázquez Keeps Hit Streak Alive Saturday, August 31st, 2019 Long hitting streaks don't happen very often and when they happen it perks up everybody's interest. No one knows how long it will go -- it could end tomorrow -- but baseball fans and Ángel Vázquez are enjoying the moment right now. The 20-year-old Fort Worth catcher extended his string to 20 consecutive games in LaGrave Field today. Vázquez got 2 hits, but the Amarillo Horseman got the victory. They toppled the Cats 12-7. Ángel Vázquez doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, walked in the 6th and struck out in the 8th. Vázquez's current batting average stands at .344 and he has chalked up 3 home runs and 19 RBIs. |
