Hits Galore: Powers Drills 5 Hits Saturday, August 17th, 2019 It was high-5 day at Mystic Lake Stadium, at least for Cedric Powers of the Mdewanketon Sabercats. He got a lot of high-5's from his teammates for his outstanding hitting against the Durham Bulls. Powers smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on his record-setting day, leading his club to a 9-4 win. His manager said, "Cedric was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him." In the other dugout the opposing manager told BNN beat writers, "He ambushed my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, tomorrow is another day. Hopefully it will be our day to shine." Cedric Powers singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This season in 111 games, Powers has hit at a .283 clip with 129 hits, 9 home runs, 52 RBIs and 78 runs scored. |
