League Takes Action, Kichida Suspended
Tuesday, July 30th, 2019
Masakado Kichida was incensed today after he was suspended by the commissioner's office for 3 games following a wild argument at the Antioch-Minneapolis game. The league cited the Coal Miners left fielder for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct," in the notification letter. Kichida strongly objected to a questionable call by the home plate umpire and was ejected.
"Ejection? Maybe. But not suspension. It's ludicrous is what it is. It's totally uncalled for. I have no idea why. You have to ask the people in the league office that wear the coats and ties and don't get on the field. I didn't cause the altercation, the umpire did. It was a lousy call."
Kichida is hitting at a .353 mark this season. His stats show no home runs, 5 RBIs and 6 runs scored. He has played 31 games for the Coal Miners.
