Horseman Núñez Down with Injury Saturday, July 20th, 2019 Santiago Núñez at first refused to leave today's South Bay-Amarillo game after he suffered a torn rotator cuff while throwing a pitch. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I want to be on the field," the feisty Amarillo starting pitcher said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Núñez out of action for 6 months. For the year Núñez has a 6-3 record with a 3.38 ERA in 16 starts. |
