Pyke 5-5 Against Astoria Friday, July 12th, 2019 Max Pyke really sizzled at the plate today. In a game played at The Death Star, the Detroit first baseman blistered the Astoria Argonauts for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace his club to a 9-3 victory. "Pyke was too tough to get out today," the Argonauts skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Max Pyke singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Javier Solís in the 8th.
