Kato Belts Bunch of Base Hits Monday, May 27th, 2019 Today at Hell Stadium Yasushi Kato put on an impressive display of hitting -- the Mdewanketon center fielder tagged El Paso pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on his batting spree and lost the game to the Diablos by the score of 16-15. "Hey, the loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it. 5-5 ain't bad in any league." Despite the terrific performance, Kato remained somewhat somber. "Sure, I'm happy with my performance today," he was quoted as saying in the locker room, "But all that really matters in this game is that number in the win column. We just didn't get it done today." Yasushi Kato doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 9th. Presently Kato is batting .299 with 61 hits and 5 home runs. He has knocked in 23 runs and scored 34 times. |
