4-Game Suspension for Phantoms Thomas Sunday, May 12th, 2019 "Deplorable conduct will not be tolerated in this league, especially if it is directed toward our umpires." That was the gist of the league commissioner's notification letter to the Coronado Phantoms organization advising them that left fielder Chad Thomas had been suspended for 4 games for his heated confrontation with the home plate umpire in yesterday's game with El Paso. He became furious over a called third strike. Looking at his season stats, Thomas has compiled a .211 batting average and a .290 on-base percentage, while hitting 3 home runs and driving in 8 runs. |
