Ruckus Reaps 5-Game Suspensions Sunday, April 28th, 2019 There were a few hotheads at the Chicago-Philadelphia game at The War Dome yesterday, but the cooler heads prevailed and kept fisticuffs to a minimum. It all started when Dave Moore of the Titans and Ricky Smith of the Freedom apparently exchanged some verbal unpleasantries and rushed at one another and began wrestling on the ground. Both benches emptied, but didn't get involved other than a little shoving. Order was quickly restored, the two instigators were ejected by the umpires and the game continued. The league office took quick action and today announced that both players would be suspended 5 games for inappropriate on-field behavior. Moore on the season is hitting .237 with 2 home runs. His stats include 9 RBIs and 10 runs scored. This season-to-date, Smith has fashioned a 1-3 mark and 4.75 ERA in 41.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .233 against him and he has logged 30 strikeouts. |
