Hit Parade: Samurakami Gets Cycle Wednesday, April 10th, 2019 Springfield's Kazutoshi Samurakami hit for the cycle today, but his club still went home with their heads hung low. The Reformers were upended by the Billings Mustangs 6-5. "It was a good game for me," Samurakami said. "I wish it could have been a good game for all of us." The Reformers second baseman sparked the offense with a truly special performance, hitting a single, double, triple and home run to add his name to the record books. Still, it wasn't enough to stop Billings. Samurakami went 4-for-5 for the game with 1 run scored and 1 run batted in. Kazutoshi Samurakami tripled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Bill Daniels in the 9th. Samurakami has collected 14 hits for the Reformers this year, 1 of them home runs. He has also netted 4 RBIs and scored 6 runs while batting .333. |
