Takuda Smacks 5 Hits for Death Stars
Tuesday, April 2nd, 2019
After the Detroit 10-4 victory over Springfield and his 5-hit day center fielder Tokuhei Takuda told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game are very good. Three or four hits even better, five or more are out of sight ... and if it is in pro ball, it is really something special."
The 24-year-old player gained that distinction today at The Death Star with a spectacular 5 for 5 game against the Springfield Reformers.
The skipper of the Death Stars spoke glowingly of Takuda, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Tokuhei did that to perfection today."
Tokuhei Takuda hit a solo-shot off Fred Watson in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
