Ridin' High: Moore Hits for Cycle
Friday, September 28th, 2018
The big buzz in the baseball world is about Brian Moore's performance today at House of Pain against Reno. Moore had 4 hits en route to hitting for the cycle, leading the charge for the Joplin 11-5 triumph over the Raiders. A cycle requires each of the four types of hits possible -- single, double, triple and home run. A batter has to have power, speed, and a little luck to do it.

"It was one of those games you dream about," Moore told the press. "I never expected to do something like this when I showed up at the park today. All you really want to do is hit it hard and put it into play. The hits will come." And the hits did come today. The 28-year-old second baseman rounded out his superb batting display with 4 hits in 4 at-bats, 7 RBI, and 2 runs scored.

Brian Moore hit a two-run double in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Tony Baltiérrez in the 3rd, hit a three-run triple in the 5th, walked in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

This season Moore is swinging the bat at a .227 pace. He has hit 18 home runs and scored 66 times, while driving in 69. His on-base percentage is .296 and he has played in 135 games.
