Calhoun Rips Indian Wells for 5 Hits Wednesday, August 29th, 2018 It was a sensational day at the plate for Joe Calhoun as he led the charge to a 8-2 win over the Aeropostales. The Amarillo right fielder was pure misery for the Indian Wells pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. The manager for the Aeropostales told BNN reporters after the game, "Calhoun put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Joe Calhoun hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th. This year Calhoun has hit at a .267 pace and produced 55 RBIs, 2 home runs and scored 84 runs. |
