Great Day for Sanford -- 5 Hits Friday, July 27th, 2018 Matt Sanford found a groove in today's game versus Billings and wrote his name in the league record book. His 5 for 5 performance at the plate unfortunately wasn't enough, as the Springfield Reformers lost the game 9-4. The 30-year-old catcher told the press, "It was one of those days when everything clicked for me. I made solid contact, and the ball dropped in. But we dropped the game. End of story." Matt Sanford singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Presently Sanford is batting .274 with no home runs and 10 RBIs. He has played in 17 games and scored 8 times. |
