Denton Bashes 5 Base Hits Friday, June 22nd, 2018 Nick Denton put on a hitting clinic today as the Communists dumped the Warriors 18-7 at Bulldog Stadium. The Leningrad first baseman sprayed hits all over the ballpark by lashing Westwood pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that he just hit it where they pitched it. "Too often I try to pull the ball too much. Today I just went with the pitch." Nick Denton singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Diego Avilés in the 4th, struck out in the 4th, tripled in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th. This year Denton has batted at a .282 pace with 11 hits, 3 home runs, 11 RBIs and scored 9 times. |
