Kato Belts Bunch of Base Hits Thursday, May 31st, 2018 Yasushi Kato got the glory and the headlines today, while the Fort Worth Cats got the win. The Mdewanketon center fielder easily handled Cats pitching, going 5 for 5, but the Sabercats came out on the short end of the score 9-6. He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "I'm glad I got the hits, but I would trade three or four of 'em for a win... maybe even all 5 of 'em." The Sabercats skipper added, "Well, it's a shame we didn't get the victory today, especially with his standout performance. Let's just hope our team can do better tomorrow." Yasushi Kato hit a solo-shot off Jorge Hernández in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. This season Kato is batting .275 with 61 hits, 1 home run, 25 RBIs, .315 OBP and has scored 36 runs. |
