Gray Sizzles -- Smokes Raiders for 5 Hits
Saturday, May 19th, 2018
It was a sensational day at the plate for Shannon Gray, but a letdown as well as the Freeze dropped the game 6-5 to the Raiders.
Nonetheless the Minneapolis first baseman was pure misery for the Reno pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win. That's the important thing," Gray said.
The manager of the Raiders told BNN reporters after the game, "Gray put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw him some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Shannon Gray hit a solo-shot off Tony Green in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
To date this year Gray is batting .273 with 5 home runs.
