Ross to Retire, May Enter Governor's Race
Sunday, November 12th, 2017
Horseman reliever Tony Ross announced today that he is retiring from baseball. What he does next is still anyone's guess. The popular Ross has been rumored to be considering a run for political office, namely governor. "He hasn't told me what his plans are," said Amarillo manager Karl Baker. "I know he has an interest in politics, but he hasn't tipped his hand yet, either way." Asked whether he thought Ross was qualified to hold public office, "Baker replied, "Definitely. I think he'd be a great governor. He's has exactly the kind of leadership skills this state needs." Associates say Ross will make a decision on his future in the next few weeks.
