Holmes 5-5 for Reformers Sunday, August 20th, 2017 "Ever since I picked up my first bat my coaches were always saying to keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing... just make contact and ya never know what'll happen," Nick Holmes told reporters after the game. "That's all I did today. I made contact and it turned out well." It definitely turned out well for the Springfield center fielder today as he collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats against Philadelphia. But not so good for his team, as the Freedom took the game at The Bell, whipping the Reformers 5-3. Nick Holmes singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. So far this season Holmes has gotten 177 hits in 517 at-bats for a .342 batting average with 7 home runs. His stats include 58 RBIs and 75 runs scored. He has played in 118 games. |
