Manning Extends Hit Streak to 25 Games Friday, June 23rd, 2017 And the hits just keep on coming -- especially off the red-hot bat of Doug Manning. The Raiders right fielder got 1 hit in 4 at-bats in today's 5-4 triumph over the Philadelphia Freedom at House of Pain. Manning has now hit safely in his last 25 games. Asked by the press, how it feels to go through something like this, he replied, "the longer it goes on, the more the pressure intensifies. The press coverage can get relentless at times. I wish I could just go out and play the game without all this distraction, but I know that's not going to happen. I know I will just have to grin and bear it." Doug Manning struck out in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, struck out in the 8th and hit an RBI triple in the 10th. This year Manning is batting .336 with 5 home runs. He has scored 21 runs and driven in 15. |
