Yasuda Stretches Hit String to 20
Friday, May 12th, 2017
Amarillo's 24-year-old center fielder Kuemon Yasuda has had a fine run at the plate over the last few weeks. His consecutive-game hitting streak has reached 20 games now. Today Yasuda extended the streak by going 1-2 against Communists pitching. The streak has brought him a degree of attention that he has tried to deflect. Yasuda always prefers to talk about his teammates' accomplishments rather than his own. After the Horseman 7-6 triumph over Leningrad at Horseman Field he downplayed his part in the victory. Kuemon Yasuda grounded out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd and singled in the 4th.
This year Yasuda is hitting at a .356 pace with 1 home run and 13 RBIs. He has played in 34 games and scored 25 times.
