5-Hit Blitz by O'Higgins
Wednesday, April 26th, 2017
Toledo second baseman Reese O'Higgins could do no wrong as he collected 5 hits against Amarillo, but he couldn't win the game. "It's a shame we didn't win. It would have been a very special day if that had happened. But it didn't. At least my batting average didn't take a plunge, too," he said. The Raptors were beaten 6-1 at Cruz Bay Park by the Horseman.
"In every one of his at-bats, things were in his favor... he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Horseman said to the press corps after the game.
O'Higgins agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
Reese O'Higgins singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Thus far in 2017 O'Higgins is hitting .406 with no home runs, 8 RBIs, 12 runs scored and has compiled a .461 OBP.
