BCL Star of the Week Named Monday, May 9th, 2016 At the age of 28, Kevin McConnell might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Astoria first baseman put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .533 batting average. For his efforts McConnell collected the Blake Camden League Player of the Week Award. He racked up 8 hits in 15 at-bats, 2 home runs and 10 RBIs last week in 5 games. During the current season McConnell is batting at a .258 clip with 5 home runs and 21 RBIs. He has played in 27 games and scored 14 times. |
