Another Setback for Miranda, Forced To Retire
Saturday, December 6th, 2014
Tough news out of Joplin for Raśl Miranda, 30-year-old reliever for the Fireballs. According to a team spokesman, "Miranda suffered a potential career-ending injury during a workout yesterday." It was another devastating setback for Miranda, who now might be facing a forced retirement. His rehabilitation from a torn ulnar collateral ligament was going well. His doctors were pleased with his progress and thought he might be activated soon. Then the ultimate injury happened.
Miranda owns a 12-19 won-lost record with a 5.17 ERA for his career. In 43 games he has recorded no saves and the 30-year-old has 174 strikeouts in 236.2 innings of work.
