Yamaguchi Must Sit Out 3 Games
Tuesday, September 30th, 2014
The Coronado Phantoms were officially notified that left fielder Tadayuki Yamaguchi had been suspended for an altercation that occurred in yesterday's game with the Diablos at Phantoms Field. After arguing a called third strike by the plate umpire, an enraged Yamaguchi threw his batting helmet toward home after he reached the dugout.
That action got him ejected and a 3-game suspension.
"I threw the helmet and I shouldn't have. But I don't deserve the suspension. It was a bad call that started this whole mess."
This year Yamaguchi has hit at a .271 clip with 43 RBIs, 9 home runs and 48 runs scored.
