Monday, September 22nd, 2014
At the age of 27, Bill Smith might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Indian Wells center fielder put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .455 batting average. For his efforts Smith collected the Kade Stenson League Player of the Week Award.
He racked up 10 hits in 22 at-bats, 2 home runs and 10 RBIs last week in 5 games.
This season Smith has delivered 155 hits in 518 at-bats for a .299 average with 36 home runs. He is getting on base at a .376 clip and his totals also include 98 RBIs and 92 runs scored. This year Smith has played in 130 games.
