McGowan Hosts Charity Golf Tournament Wednesday, November 13th, 2019 San Diego starting pitcher Henry McGowan has always been a fierce competitor. In recent years, this love of competition has helped him develop into an exceptional golfer. He has participated in - and even won - several charity golf tournaments. "I've managed to lower my handicap significantly just over the past few years," said McGowan with a smile. "I'm no pro, but I think I can hold my own out on the links." Now, McGowan is putting his skills to the test as he hosts his very own tournament, the Henry McGowan Celebrity Pro-Am. McGowan was the first to tee off this morning, along with San Diego Hops closer, Ed Downing, and Hops manager, António Martínez. "Henry has always had a charitable spirit. He did a great job getting this thing organized," said the San Diego skipper. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit numerous local charities. "I'm grateful to everyone who helped me pull this off and to everyone who came out to watch," said McGowan. "We raised a lot of money for some very worthy causes today. Hopefully, we can do this again next year." |
