Tornadoes SP Martínez Out
Wednesday, September 25th, 2019
The Kansas City Tornadoes were dealt a severe blow when Reynaldo Martínez was hurt throwing a pitch recently in a game against the Eureka Hornets. After the game, the team trainer reported Martínez might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 25-year-old starting pitcher out for the rest of the season with a torn back muscle. They indicated it would take Martínez at least 4-5 months to heal.

This year Martínez has fanned 155 in 206.1 innings and collected a 19-5 record with a 4.27 ERA.
