Streak Finally Over, Shields Held Hitless
Thursday, September 12th, 2019
The Brooklyn Outlaws pitching did its job today, holding hot-hitting Tim Shields hitless in 4 at-bats during a 6-5 victory over the Montreal Bandits at Blue Ivy Stadium. This disappointing performance ended his 27-game hitting streak.
"I'm a little down right now," Shields said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too."
This season Shields is batting .349 with 196 hits, 8 home runs, 72 RBIs, .397 OBP and has scored 79 runs.
