Shields's Hit Streak Soars to 25 Games
Sunday, September 8th, 2019
Tim Shields of the Montreal Bandits just keeps going and going. The hot-hitting catcher went 2-for-4 in his team's 10-6 victory over the Seattle Sasquatch at Sick's Stadium and extended his hitting streak to 25 games.
"He is definitely on a roll right now" said a Sasquatch pitcher. "I thought I made some good pitches against him, but he's a good hitter and hit 'em anyway."
When asked about his performance, Shields said, "I don't care if I go hitless as long as we get the win." Tim Shields singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, walked in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
To date this season Shields is hitting .352 with 8 home runs.
