Elliott Slaps 5 Hits Sunday, September 8th, 2019 Today at Stars & Stripes Stadium Scott Elliott put on an impressive display of hitting -- the Manhatten Beach right fielder tagged Carolina pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on his batting spree and lost the game to the Crush by the score of 16-3. "Hey, the loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it. 5-5 ain't bad in any league." Despite the terrific performance, Elliott remained somewhat somber. "Sure, I'm happy with my performance today," he was quoted as saying in the locker room, "But all that really matters in this game is that number in the win column. We just didn't get it done today." Scott Elliott singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th. In his 2019 season totals, Elliott has no home runs, .257 BA, .337 OBP, 12 RBIs and 23 runs scored. |
