Shields Batters Seattle Big Time Friday, September 6th, 2019 Tim Shields had an answer for everything Seattle threw him today at Sick's Stadium. In 6 at-bats he made good contact and 6 times he drilled the ball for a base hit. The Montreal catcher went 6 for 7 in the game to get his name in the record book. However, his great performance was not enough to produce a victory. His club, the Bandits, took it on the chin 6-5 against the Sasquatch. "I know you can't win 'em all," he said, "but it sure would have been nice to win this one. To get 6 hits and lose is just not the way it should be." Tim Shields singled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th and singled in the 12th. This year Shields is hitting .351 with 8 home runs and 71 RBIs in 129 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .398 with 34 walks and 76 runs scored. |
