Gómez Raps 3 Homers Against Hornets
Friday, August 30th, 2019
Three home runs don't always equal a win. Most of the time it does, but not today at Debris Field. The Eureka Hornets beat the odds and also beat Pedro Gómez and the Kansas City Tornadoes 11-9. The hot-hitting third baseman had an historic day at the plate with three home runs, 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored, but no victory.
"This game is special for me. It's an individual accomplishment," he said. "As a team we didn't have a good day, but the three homers make it better."
Pedro Gómez grounded out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Toshiki Koda in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Toshiki Koda in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Ramón Rivera in the 8th.
Gómez is batting at a .254 pace this season, picking up 116 hits in 457 at-bats with 27 home runs, 85 RBIs and 70 runs scored.
