Griffith Zeroes in on Manhatten Beach
Wednesday, August 14th, 2019
"That's one thing that has never changed in this game -- pitching can control hitting," the Toreros manager told reporters after today's game. The Patriots ran into a buzzsaw as Edward Griffith cut them down to size 4-0 with a 2-hit shutout.

His skipper added, "He knows exactly what he's doing. He's not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one." In the complete game whitewash the Cabo San Lucas hurler doled out 1 walk and registered 4 strikeouts.

In the postgame press conference his catcher said, "Edward goes out there and just goes about his business. I don't think he gets too concerned about what's going on. You can call any pitch and you know where he's going to be."

Griffith also got some praise from the Manhatten Beach manager. "He really kept us in check today. Everything looked to be moving. Seemed like the pitch was right down the middle and it went over down and away... we took some pathetic swings."

This season-to-date, Griffith has fashioned a 4-17 mark and 5.54 ERA in 169 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .284 against him and he has logged 78 strikeouts.
