League KO's Panthers-Outlaws Players with 10-Game Suspensions
Sunday, July 28th, 2019
There were a few hotheads at the Fort Worth-Brooklyn game at Panthers Park yesterday, but the cooler heads prevailed and kept fisticuffs to a minimum. It all started when Roland Mackey of the Panthers and Tadaaki Tahara of the Outlaws apparently exchanged some verbal unpleasantries and rushed at one another and began wrestling on the ground. Both benches emptied, but didn't get involved other than a little shoving. Order was quickly restored, the two instigators were ejected by the umpires and the game continued.
The league office took quick action and today announced that both players would be suspended 10 games for inappropriate on-field behavior.
For the year Mackey has hit at a .216 clip with 14 RBIs, 4 home runs and 22 runs scored.
Tahara's record so far this season is 1-and-0 with 1 save and a 3.50 ERA. He has given up 36 hits in 43.2 innings with 38 strikeouts.
