Crush End Au's Streak Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 The hitting streak that Montreal right fielder Li-chi Au had going was ended today by the Carolina Crush. Au, who had hits in his previous 22 games, was stymied today, but the rest of his team picked him up, earning the Bandits a 14-4 victory at Labatt Bleue Park. He was hitless in 5 at-bats. "Hitting streaks come and go. One good thing came out of it, however, it perked up my batting average a little bit, but did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with the streak always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win." Currently Au has 14 home runs and a .390 batting average. |
