Strafford on a Tear, Hits for Cycle
Monday, July 1st, 2019
It was a special day at Debris Field for Larry Strafford at the plate, not only did he contribute to the Tornadoes 11-4 win over the Bombers, he hit for the cycle.
"Boy, Larry had a game, didn't he? It's a rare player that has the talent to hit for the cycle. It takes speed, power and maybe a little luck, too. You don't see this happen very often." the Kansas City manager said.
Strafford went 4-4 on the day and had 6 RBI and 2 runs scored -- and he got his name in the record book, too.
Larry Strafford walked in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Jason Adams in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and hit a three-run triple in the 8th.
On the season, Strafford is batting .315 with 6 home runs and 48 RBIs. He has played in 80 games.
