Ramírez and Gould Dealt
Monday, June 24th, 2019
You can't always get what you want, but sometimes you find a deal anyway. The Baseball News Network is reporting that Maple and Montreal have made a swap with 19-year-old minor league starting pitcher Ramu Pavi, 24-year-old reliever Manny Palma, 25-year-old starting pitcher Yoshiaga Ueno and 25-year-old minor league starting pitcher Jesús Ramírez being shipped to the Bandits and in return the Marauders would get 33-year-old starting pitcher Maurice Gould.
The Montreal general manager said the two sides were close to a blockbuster trade before agreeing upon a smaller scale transaction. "This is just a bit of housekeeping compared to what we wanted to do," he said. "I won't name names, but the potential deal we were close to making would have certainly grabbed some headlines." A source inside the Maple organization said the two sides might not be done dealing, and another transaction could be in the works.
In 6 starts this season Ramírez has recorded a 0-0 record and a 9.59 ERA.
In 16 starts this year Gould has fashioned a 7-5 record and a 4.13 ERA.
