5-5 Day for Kaneko
Wednesday, May 22nd, 2019
After the San Diego 14-11 victory over Minnesota and his 5-hit day shortstop Hirotsugu Kaneko told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game are very good. Three or four hits even better, five or more are out of sight ... and if it is in pro ball, it is really something special."

The 27-year-old player gained that distinction today at The Brew Stade with a spectacular 5 for 5 game against the Minnesota Berserkers.

The skipper of the Hops spoke glowingly of Kaneko, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Hirotsugu did that to perfection today."

Hirotsugu Kaneko singled in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

So far this year in 44 games Kaneko is hitting .296 with 4 home runs, 23 RBIs and 22 runs scored.
