Ashton Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Saturday, May 18th, 2019 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. It might come around only once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Tracy Ashton got one today. He scattered hits all over Metroplex Park to pace Dallas to a 9-4 victory over New York. The New York skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Ashton hit several that he is not supposed to hit." Tracy Ashton singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Richard Rogers in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. Currently Ashton is batting .320 with 58 hits and 6 home runs. He has knocked in 31 runs and scored 26 times. |
