Blanchard Slams Milestone Homer
Sunday, April 28th, 2019
It was a great day for Peter Blanchard, but not a good one for his Minnesota Berserkers. The 25-year-old first baseman reached a personal milestone with his 300th career homer, but it wasn't enough to beat the Mile High Mustangs, who came away with a 6-5 victory. Blanchard finished the day with 2 hits, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.
"Well, I've conceded the fact that you can't will yourself to hit a home run," he said. "I tried hard for the last few days. It was getting to be embarrassing with the crowd standing up every time I came to the plate."
In his career Blanchard has played in 1063 games with a .337 batting average. Among his 1433 hits are 251 doubles, 18 triples, and 300 home runs. He also has scored 788 runs, walked 439 times, has no stolen bases and driven in 973 runs.
