Georgia 2B Woodward Suspended Saturday, April 27th, 2019 Georgia will not have the services of second baseman Jim Woodward for several days. The league commissioner has suspended him for 5 games for arguing a third strike call. The altercation occurred in yesterday's contest with the So Cal Republic and involved the home plate umpire. Riled up by being called out, Woodward slightly shoved him after he was ejected. In baseball it is taboo to touch an umpire. So far this year Woodward is batting .242 with 1 home run, 7 RBIs and 8 runs scored. |
